Case study
Web app for tracking fire barriers, embedding images, and generating PDF reports synced with construction plans.
Fire protection documentation in construction requires meticulous record-keeping of every fire barrier- including technical specifications, material types, fire resistance ratings, and photographic evidence. Projects can have hundreds of barriers that need to be tracked, inspected, and reported to clients.
Traditional workflows relied on paper forms, scattered photos across devices, and manual report assembly. This made audits challenging, client handovers time-consuming, and compliance tracking difficult.
IgniLogs is a full-featured fire barrier management system that digitizes the entire documentation workflow from capture to client delivery.
- Comprehensive barrier tracking with industry-specific fields, extensible data model.
- Professional PDF report generation with technical data, embedded photos, approvals and construction plan references.
- Advanced filtering system with multi-dimensional search across barrier properties, dates, and project metadata.
- Secure multi-user access with Clerk authentication and Supabase Row Level Security.
Built with Next.js App Router and React Server Components for optimal performance. The architecture separates concerns cleanly- Supabase handles relational data, while AWS S3 manages blog files.
Smart form logic implements conditional validation based on previous input. Form state is managed with React Hook Form and Zod schemas, ensuring type-safe validation.
Server actions handle sensitive server-side operations like S3 uploads and PDF generation.
Core functionalities are fully operational. The application is currently in early access phase, with features being actively fine-tuned and adjusted based on end user feedback.
